System Benefits

Lower construction costs
The AquaPave system reduces or eliminates the need for gullies, bioswales, stormwater ponds, drains, oil and silt traps and flow control mechanisms required for traditional drainage.

Run-off control
Rainwater filters through the permeable pavement at a rate of up to 9,000 litres per m2/hr (354 in/hr), reducing run-off and preventing erosion of nearby sensitive areas.

Flexible solutions
AquaPave systems can be designed for full exfiltration, partial exfiltration or no exfiltration to the ground below, allowing water to be redirected to existing sewer systems or harvested for re-use.

Improved groundwater quality
The various elements of the AquaPave sub-base remove pollutants from water, significantly improving the quality of water that is released into the groundwater supply.

Supports water harvesting and re-use
Tanked (no exfiltration) systems collect rainfall in the sub-base and redirect it for non-potable uses, such as toilet flushing, car washing or lawn & garden watering.

ADA Compliant
AquaPave is compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) design standards for paved surfaces and is safe for disabled pedestrians and wheelchairs, making it ideal for shopping centers and other high traffic, public areas.

Heavy duty use
The AquaPave system can be designed for heavy duty use through the use of SC Intergrid for base stabilization.

Long lasting performance
A minimum 20-25 year life span is expected with proper outside sediment control. Even assuming a 90% reduction in the rate of infiltration after 25 years, the surface permeability would still be eighteen times that of current requirements for a 50 mm (2 in) per hour storm.
